By all accounts, putting on independent live music shows is getting more difficult, but last Thursday’s performance by Willy Vlautin of Richmond Fontaine was a heady reminder of why we keep doing what we do. Thanks to all who came down to The Victoria, the Mellow Peaches for a blinding opening set and to Willy, for his wonderful words and music sure, but also for being a great guy.

Willy reads from Lean On Pete

Opening with a short reading from his new novel Lean On Pete, Willy then played a couple of songs that were the genesis of the book, before an hour of stripped-bare interpretations of music spanning his career with Richmond Fontaine and a generous encore of audience requests.
