When I was filling in the sonic gaps at Flatpack closedown party, I had a wave of nostalgia for the way Colour operated in the beginning. Most of the time it was simply two music geeks (myself and Mr. James Nash) and their friends getting together in a nice bar and playing songs we loved – If other people turned up and enjoyed what we were playing, all the better.
We loved the fact that we were the soundtrack to people’s conversations and the idea of a community building around our humble weekly Wednesday night. We eventually borrowed ‘Perfect Sound Forever’ from Pavement as a reminder to ourselves of what we were all about.
I’m really pleased to let you know that we’re stripping things back for one evening only, soundtracking The Victoria’s weekly Sunday Roast on 26 April. Come along, tuck into the meat and/or veg of your choosing and then get your post-roast relax on, with us as your musical accompaniment.
To give you an idea of what we’ll be playing, have a look at our last.fm page.
